LoopCAD
Floor Heating Design Workflow
Evaluation page for using LoopCAD inside the Systems Studio PAC + Solar workflow: floor-heating circuit layouts, tube spacing, loop length, hydronic calculations, heat-loss support, material lists and installer coordination.
Purpose inside PAC + Solar Studies
LoopCAD is used as a design-support tool when a project includes radiant floor heating. It helps convert architectural floor plans into loop layouts that can be evaluated for tube spacing, circuit length, manifold placement, flow, pressure drop and material estimation.
Evaluation Checklist
Systems Studio Workflow
| Step | Action | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Collect client floor plans and heating zones. | Base plan for floor-heating design. |
| 2 | Define room heating demand and floor construction type. | Room-by-room heating assumptions. |
| 3 | Create LoopCAD loop layout. | Tube spacing, loop route, circuit length. |
| 4 | Check hydronic data. | Flow, pressure drop, manifold and balancing assumptions. |
| 5 | Coordinate with PAC + Solar concept. | Low-temperature operation strategy and cost-estimation basis. |

Decision Matrix
| Decision | Meaning | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Adopt | LoopCAD improves floor-heating study speed and output quality. | Add to standard PAC + Solar study workflow. |
| Use selectively | Useful only for projects with floor heating or complex hydronic layouts. | Offer as optional study module. |
| Do not adopt yet | Workflow, cost or compatibility is not yet justified. | Keep using manual schematic review and installer support. |
